The Cadet Program itself is free to join. Uniforms are issued at no cost, and many core training opportunities are provided through the program. Some optional activities or fundraising support may still come up during the year.
No. Cadet uniforms are issued at no cost. Cadets are expected to maintain their uniform properly and wear it to the required standard once issued.

Cadets take part in leadership development, drill, fitness, citizenship, teamwork, field training, ceremonial events, and other opportunities that help them grow personally and socially.
The Cadet Program uses a military-style structure and shares many values such as discipline, leadership, and service, but cadets are not required to join the Canadian Armed Forces. The program is focused on youth development.
